Job Opportunity: Emergency Room Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)
Location
- Easton, Maryland
Contract Details
- Length: 13 weeks
- Start Date: June 29, 2026
- Shift: Rotating Night/Evening shifts
- Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
- Evening shift: 3:00 PM – 3:30 AM
- Hours: 36 hours per week (3x12 or 4x12 shifts accepted)
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
- Holidays: Required as scheduled
- Floating: Within specialty and sister ED facilities as needed
- On-call: No pre-scheduled on-call shifts required
Job Description
- Fast-paced Emergency Department setting with complex diagnoses across all systems
- Patient age range: Infant to geriatric
- Nurse-to-patient ratio: Typically 1:4, can be up to 1:5 with lower acuity patients
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Maryland
- Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department (ED) experience, including experience within the last year
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Certifications:
- BLS issued by the American Heart Association
- ACLS
- PALS issued by the American Heart Association
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
- Acknowledgement of Pass/Fail Testing for medication and EKG/arrhythmia competency exams at orientation
Experience Requirements
- 2 years of recent hospital or equivalent acute care experience in the RN role
- First-time travelers accepted (prior travel experience not required)
Compliance and Documentation Requirements
- Background checks including 7-year criminal history, SSN trace, nationwide and sex offender searches, education verification, and state-specific exclusions
- Negative drug screen (9 or 10 panel depending on source) within 30 days prior to start
- Physical exam within 1 year of start
- Fit mask test within 1 year of start (specific mask models required)
- Immunizations and titers:
- TDaP within 10 years or signed declination
- Flu vaccine or approved medical/religious exemption for the 2025-26 season
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray per facility protocol
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR) immunity or vaccination
- Varicella immunity or vaccination
- Hepatitis B immunity or declination (series not accepted)
- COVID vaccine not required for this location but documentation collected for tracking
- Required to sign confidentiality agreement, dress code acknowledgment, and job description prior to start
- Photo for badge with specific background requirements
Orientation and Training
- Orientation held at the facility’s School of Nursing at 8 AM on Tuesdays (normal orientation schedule)
- Dress code: Royal Blue scrubs or business casual during orientation (clinical floor work starts Thursday)
- Epic training test-out option available for eligible candidates with prior Epic experience
References and Work History
- Two supervisory references within the last year required
- Verification of at least 2 years of hospital or acute care experience within the last 5 years
