Job Opportunity: IMC Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)
Location: Clinton, Maryland
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Work in Intermediate Care (IMC) and Intensive Care Unit (ICU) settings.
- Float to Medical-Surgical (MS) and Emergency Department (ED) units as needed.
- Schedule: 3x12 hour shifts rotating day (7:00 AM - 7:30 PM) and night (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM).
- Weekend requirement: Every other weekend, totaling 6 weekend shifts (Saturday or Sunday) over a 6-week period.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Maryland.
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
- Minimum 1 year of Intermediate Care (IMC) experience within the last year.
- Minimum 2 years of Intensive Care Unit (ICU) experience.
- Completed at least 1 prior travel nursing assignment.
- Certifications:
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
Health and Compliance Requirements
- Annual physical exam confirming ability to perform job duties without accommodations and free from communicable disease.
- Negative TB test (PPD, Quantiferon, or T-spot) within 1 year; if history of TB, additional documentation required.
- Immunizations or titers required for:
- Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella (2 MMR vaccines or positive titer)
- Varicella (2 vaccines or positive titer)
- Hepatitis B (titer, series, or signed declination)
- Tdap vaccine within the last 10 years preferred.
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (September 23 - March 31).
- Drug screening within 90 days of start (excluding marijuana), covering multiple substances.
- N95 Fit Test within 9 months of start and updated annually (not required for Sterile Processing Techs).
Background and Documentation
- Criminal background check within 90 days of start covering all locations lived/worked/schooled in the past 7 years.
- Monthly EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks prior to and during assignment.
- Education verification of highest degree required by position.
- Complete 7 years of work history with no gaps, including education, employment, license, and contact information.
- Skills checklist and competency exams updated annually.
- Valid driver’s license required if driving is an essential job function.
Additional Information
- Candidate must complete facility-specific orientation modules prior to start.
- Photo for badge must meet specified criteria (clear, centered, no glare, solid background).
- Must comply with all facility policies and annual recertifications as applicable.
