Respiratory Therapist – General Rehabilitation

Shift & Hours

• 12-hour night shifts
• 36 hours per week

Patient Population

• Neonate to geriatric patients
• Inpatient and Emergency Department, including deliveries and open heart cases

Patient Ratios

• 1:1

Required Certifications

• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
• CRT (Certified Respiratory Therapist) or RRT (Registered Respiratory Therapist)

Required Skills

• Drawing arterial blood gases (ABGs)
• Weaning and extubation
• Ventilator management
• Use of BiPAP, CPAP, and nebulizers
• Comfortable with deliveries and infant ventilators in NICU settings, including C-sections

Preferred Skills

• Placing arterial lines
• Intubation

Experience

• Minimum 2 years of respiratory therapy experience
• First-time travelers are welcome (prior travel experience not required)

Support & Team

• Code Blue/Rapid Response Team available
• Other respiratory therapists on unit

Equipment & Systems

• EPIC electronic charting system
• Alaris IV pumps
• Pyxis medication dispensing system
• Puritan Bennett and Hamilton ventilators

Floating

• May float throughout the facility including the Emergency Room

Orientation

• 1-2 shifts based on comfort level

Scheduling & Time Off

• Weekend rotation every 3rd weekend
• Up to 7 days time off can be approved
• No on-call duties
• Holiday work expectations: 1 summer holiday and 1 winter holiday
