Registered Nurse (RN) – Med Surg/Telemetry (Nights)

Location: Dubuque, Iowa
Employment Type: Temporary
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Float pool position covering General Medical-Surgical, Rehabilitation, and Behavioral Health units
• Patient types include Med Surg, Rehab, and Behavioral Health
• Bed size: 63
• Nurse-to-patient ratios: 1:4-5
• Experience administering Heparin and Insulin drips required
• Work schedule: Nights
• Expected to work 36-40 hours per week; overtime applies after 40 hours
• Required to work 1-2 of 3 upcoming summer holidays (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day) unless the unit is closed
• Electronic Medical Record system: EPIC
• Charge/Precept pay available
• Call back and on-call pay available

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 24 months of recent experience in Medical-Surgical, Medical Telemetry, or Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU) settings
• Must have completed at least one prior travel contract within the last 12 months (no first-time travelers)
• Active Iowa RN license or compact/multistate license at time of submission
• Current ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification from AHA or ARC
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification from AHA or ARC
• NIH Stroke Scale certification is highly preferred
• Valid driver’s license
• Skills checklist specific to Med Surg, Telemetry, or Med/Tele discipline required
• Professional references or performance evaluations within the last 24 months preferred

Additional Information

• Orientation dates available: June 15 and June 22
• Nurse scrub color: Pewter Grey
• Call back minimum of 2 hours with multiplier pay
• Overtime and holiday pay multipliers apply

This position is ideal for experienced travel nurses with strong Med Surg and Telemetry skills who are comfortable floating across multiple units and working night shifts.
