Registered Nurse (RN) – Med Surg/Telemetry (Days)
Location: Dubuque, Iowa
Employment Type: Temporary
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Overview
- Float pool position covering General Medical-Surgical, Rehabilitation, and Behavioral Health units
- Patient types include Med Surg, Rehab, Behavioral Health
- Unit bed size: 63
- Nurse-to-patient ratios: 1:4-5
- Experience with drips: Insulin and Heparin required
- Work schedule: 36-40 hours/week with billable overtime after 40 hours
- Required to work 1-2 of 3 upcoming summer holidays (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day) unless the unit is closed
- Orientation dates available mid-June
- Electronic Medical Record system: EPIC
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 24 months of recent experience in Medical-Surgical, Medical Telemetry, or Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU) settings
- Must have completed at least one prior travel contract within the last 12 months (no first-time travelers)
- Active Iowa RN license or compact/multistate license at time of application
- Current ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification from AHA or ARC
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification from AHA or ARC
- Driver’s license required
- Skills checklist specific to Med Surg, Telemetry, or Med/Tele discipline required
- Experience administering Heparin and Insulin drips
- Professional reference or performance evaluation within the last 24 months preferred
- NIH Stroke Scale certification highly preferred
