Job Opportunity: ER Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

Location: Easton, Maryland
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Position Details

• Role: Emergency Room Registered Nurse
• Shift: Alternating 3x12 hour shifts (Day/Mid)

  • Day shift options: 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM or 11:00 AM - 11:30 PM
• Hours per week: 36 hours
• Schedule Requirements:

  • Every other weekend required
  • Holidays required as scheduled
  • Floating within the unit as needed
  • No on-call required

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Maryland
• Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department (ED) experience, with at least some experience within the last year
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Certifications:

  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) - American Heart Association
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) - American Heart Association
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) - American Heart Association
  • Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) certification
  • NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification

Candidate Requirements & Compliance

• Background Checks:

  • 7-year criminal history check within 30 days of start, updated annually
  • Education verification
  • Various federal and state exclusion screenings including Maryland Medicaid Sanctioned Providers List
  • Felony history within 5 years results in automatic decline
• Health Requirements:

  • Physical exam within 1 year of start
  • Negative 9 or 10 panel drug screen within 30 days prior to start (instant tests not accepted)
  • Fit mask test within 1 year of start (specific mask models required)
  • Immunizations and titers:

    • TDaP within 10 years or signed declination
    • Negative TB test or chest X-ray per facility protocol, updated annually
    • Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella, Varicella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines/boosters required; medical/religious exemptions accepted with documentation
    • Hepatitis B: Positive titer or declination accepted; series not accepted
    • Seasonal Flu vaccine or approved medical/religious exemption required for 2025-26 season
  • COVID-19 vaccine not required for this location but documentation or declination collected for tracking
• Documentation:

  • Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID)
  • I9 attestation and E-Verify compliance
  • Photo for badge (passport style with solid background)
  • Signed job description and confidentiality agreement prior to start
  • Completion of facility-specific forms including dress code review, hospital policies, TB risk assessment, access forms, and allergy questionnaires
  • Portfolio Epic Training Test Out form may be applicable
• References & Work History:

  • Two supervisory references within 1 year of start
  • Verification of at least 2 years hospital experience in the RN role within last 5 years
  • Employment application/resume completed within 30 days of start

Additional Notes

• First-time travelers are accepted for this assignment.
• Floating will be within the unit only.
• No on-call responsibilities.
• Orientation is typically held at 8 AM on Tuesdays at the facility’s School of Nursing (dress code: royal blue scrubs or business casual).
• Candidates must complete all required documentation and certifications prior to orientation and start date.
