Cath Lab Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Position

Location: Beaufort, South Carolina
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Work primarily in the Cardiac Cath Lab and Interventional Radiology, including IR holding department.
• Schedule: 4x9-hour shifts (may occasionally work 5x8-hour shifts as needed).
• Dayshift Monday through Friday with rotating evening, night, weekend, and holiday call.
• Care for adult patients with various disease processes in a procedural area, including pre- and post-procedure care.
• Required skills: IV start, circulating, telemetry monitoring, conscious sedation.
• Preferred experience with hemodynamic monitoring and PACS.
• Use of Meditech EMR system.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in South Carolina.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in Cardiac Cath Lab, with experience within the last year.
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• Proficiency in conscious sedation.

Schedule & Hours

• Shift: Day (3 shifts of 12 hours each), 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
• Total hours per week: 36 hours.

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

• Government-issued photo ID must be carried during hours of service.
• Criminal background check required within 30 days of start (for new candidates).
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start and for every contract renewal.
• Primary source verification of state license and NURSYS verification required.
• Completion of facility-specific Relias training modules (~81 modules) prior to first shift and orientation.
• Badge photo required (no hats, sunglasses, altered images).
• Signed job description and confidentiality agreements required.
• Physical exam attesting ability to meet physical demands of the position.
• Immunization and health screening requirements including:

  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years or declination form)
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
  • Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella titers or vaccinations (or declination)
  • Hepatitis B titer or vaccine series (or declination)
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or declination
  • COVID vaccination or declination
• Drug testing: 10-panel within 30 days of start (instant tests not accepted).
• Proof of 2 clinical references required.
• Performance evaluations and skills checklists may be required if applicable.

• Facility does not accept candidates with background issues or licensure actions.
• Prior travel experience is not explicitly required.
• Adult patient population only.
• Telemetry monitoring skills required (Tele = Telemetry).
