Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse – PCU (Progressive Care Unit)

Location: Columbus, Ohio

Work Schedule

• Night shift: 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
• Weekdays and some weekends
• Rotating holidays
• Required to float within units of equivalent or lower acuity level
• Estimated patient ratio: 1 nurse to 3 patients

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Ohio
• Minimum 2 years of Progressive Care Unit (PCU) nursing experience, including experience within the last year
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification issued by the American Heart Association
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Experience with Epic electronic health record system

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous travel nursing experience preferred but not required

Additional Requirements & Information

• Must complete fingerprinting with Ohio BCI & FBI using code 3701.881 prior to start; fingerprinting results must be current within 1 year or renewed if there is a break in service over 90 days
• Pending fingerprint or background check results require a signed attestation to start
• Candidates must review and sign facility dress code and hand hygiene policies
• Fraud, Waste, and Abuse training certificate required prior to start and updated annually
• Ethics and compliance policies must be reviewed and acknowledged annually
• Orientation Safety Manual acknowledgment required annually
• NIH Stroke Certification may be required depending on unit assignment; must be obtained within 1 year of start and renewed every 2 years if applicable
• Candidates must comply with all facility-specific credentialing and compliance documentation requirements

Summary

This is a travel contract RN position on a Progressive Care Unit working night shifts with a 1:3 patient ratio. The role requires at least 2 years of PCU experience, strong telemetry and IV skills, and proficiency with EPIC. Certifications in BLS and ACLS are mandatory. Candidates must pass comprehensive background checks, fingerprinting, and meet all health and immunization requirements. Prior travel experience is preferred but not mandatory. The contract length is approximately 13 weeks.
