Description
Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse – Emergency Room (Night Shift)
Location: Albuquerque, New Mexico
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Shift: Night shift, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (18:30 – 7:00)
- Hours per week: 36 hours (option for 36 or 48 hours)
- Schedule: Every other weekend required
- Unit: Emergency Room (ER)
Required Experience
- Minimum 2 years of experience preferred in nursing specialty
- First-time travel nurses are welcome
Required Certifications & Licenses
- Current, valid Registered Nurse (RN) license for New Mexico
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
- Additional certifications may be required as applicable (e.g., NRP, TNCC, NIH Stroke Certification, CPI, MAB)
Required Qualifications & Compliance
- Valid Driver’s License or State ID
- Completion of a 7-year background check including education verification and sex offender registry
- Required federal and state screenings (EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG)
- Fingerprinting required onsite during orientation (New Mexico placements only)
- Education verification with primary source validation
- Negative 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start
- Physical exam within 12 months of start
- Fit test for approved masks within 1 year of start (annual renewal required)
- Immunizations and health requirements:
- Adult Tdap vaccine within 10 years
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
- Proof of immunity or vaccination for Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Hepatitis B
- Annual flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption (declinations not accepted)
- Completion of unit-specific skills checklist annually
- Work history verification for the past 7 years
- Completion of employment application/resume
Requirements/Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in New Mexico
- Minimum of 1 year of Emergency Department (ED) experience within the last year
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Additional Information
- Orientation includes fingerprinting and EPIC training (cannot work until fingerprint clearance is received)
- Photo headshot required for badge issuance
- Compliance with facility-specific forms and documentation prior to start
- Internal attestations and documentation required for exemptions and verifications
Notes for Candidates
- Prior travel experience is not required for this position
- Candidates must be prepared to work night shifts and every other weekend
- This is a travel contract position with a 13-week duration
