Registered Nurse (ICU) - Travel Assignment

Location: Nashville, Tennessee
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Hours per Week: 36

Unit Overview

• ICU with 16 beds
• Patient ratios typically 2:1, sometimes 1:1 or 3:1 depending on acuity and staffing
• Unit staffed with a unit secretary during dayshift; occasional nurse externs assist as techs
• Equipment includes ventilators, EVDs, CRRT, SLED, EV 1000
• Documentation system: Meditech
• Scheduling done in 4-week increments with some self-scheduling; minimum 4 weekend shifts per schedule
• Contract staff expected to float to med/surg if needed
• Expected to provide attentive and compassionate care to patients and families

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Tennessee
• Minimum 2 years of ICU (Intensive Care Unit) experience, including experience within the last year
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Certifications: ACLS, BLS
• Advanced ICU skills including:

  • Insertion of central lines
  • Insertion of arterial lines
  • Lumbar punctures
  • Chest tube insertions
  • EVD insertions

  • Lumbar punctures

  • EVD insertions

Additional Information

• Dress code: Navy scrubs (tops and bottoms)
• Unit offers exposure to advanced technology and equipment
• Floating to med/surg units may be required as part of contract duties
