Pediatric Physical Therapist (PT) - Travel/Contract
Location: Rockville, Maryland
Setting: Outpatient
Job Details
- Start Date: ASAP
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Shift: Preferred Monday-Thursday, 8:30 AM - 6:30 PM; open to 5 days/week if needed
- Hours per Week: 40 (scheduled 5x8-hour days)
- Daily Caseload: 6-7 patients
- Patient Population: Pediatrics
- Documentation System: Cerner
- Productivity Expectation: Bill 25 hours/week (scheduled 29 hours/week)
- Return to Office (RTO) Restrictions: Maximum 6 days off; if a full week off is taken, an extra week must be added at the end of the contract
Required Qualifications
- Valid Pediatric Physical Therapist license in Maryland
- Minimum 2 years of Pediatric Physical Therapy experience, including experience within the last year
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Facility & Work Environment
- Outpatient clinic within a teaching hospital setting
- Multidisciplinary therapy team model
- Equipment available includes parallel bars, LiteGait, and Functional Electrical Stimulation (FES)
- Dress code: Scrubs of any color
Compliance & Documentation Requirements
- Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License/State ID)
- Background checks covering all locations lived/worked/schooled in past 7 years, including SSN trace, sex offender registry, education verification, and others
- Education verification or transcript/diploma accepted if verification pending
- Professional license primary source verification
- Physical exam within 30 days of start, including latex allergy information
- Fit test for N95 or equivalent mask within 1 year, updated annually
- Immunizations and titers required with lab values and reference ranges for:
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella)
- Varicella
- Hepatitis B (series and quantitative antibody titer)
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 60 days of start (with additional requirements if positive or new converter)
- 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start, including marijuana
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season
- COVID vaccine or declination required for tracking
- Facility-specific safety and orientation acknowledgements
- Professional references: 2 within past 2 years, preferably supervisors/managers, cannot be pending at start
- Employment application and skills checklist required
Notes
- Orientation and competency exams are required
- Medication billing expectations and documentation proficiency with Cerner system
- Must be able to meet productivity and scheduling requirements
