Cath Lab Technologist – Illinois, Peoria
Job Details
- Specialty: Cardiac Cath Lab Technician
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Shift: Days
- Hours: 10 hours per day, 40 hours per week
- Location: Local placements accepted within a 50-mile radius
Job Description
- Work in a Cath Lab with 6 suites/labs, handling 10 to 15 cases per day on average
- Duties include scrubbing, monitoring hemodynamics, and circulating during procedures
- Cath Lab is separate from Interventional Radiology (IR) and Electrophysiology (EP)
- Use EMR and equipment such as EPIC, PACS, and McKesson cardiology systems
- Cardiologists are on call 24/7, 365 days a year
- Primary charge nurse available from 6:00 AM to 3:30 PM; charge nurse takes call but does not routinely complete cases
- Shifts are 9 hours with rotating weekends, holidays, and weekly on-call rotations (8-9 call shifts per month)
- Call response time is 30 minutes from page
- No floating requirements currently
- Scrubs provided by the hospital
- Orientation lasts 3 to 5 days, with 12 non-billable orientation hours guaranteed
Required Certifications & Licenses
- ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists)
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- IEMA (Illinois Emergency Management Agency) certification
- Active Illinois license or confirmation that the application process has been initiated
Experience & Skills
- Previous Cath Lab experience required
- Pediatric Cath Lab experience preferred but not required
- Experience with McKesson cardiology PACS preferred but not required
Additional Information
- Drug-free campus; negative drug screen required for all panels
- Mandatory call list used when staff cannot fulfill call shifts
- Call off policy allows equivalent of 12 hours off every 13 weeks without penalty or pay obligation
