Description
Registered Nurse – ER (Travel/Contract)
Location: Burlington, North Carolina
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Shift: Night, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
- Occasional 3 PM – 3 AM shifts as needed
- Up to every other week (EOW) and holiday coverage as needed
- No on-call required
- Department cares for all ages and includes specialties such as cath lab, women's health, stroke care
- Special care populations: cancer, sepsis, medical emergencies, behavioral health
Requirements/Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina
- Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department (ED) nursing experience, with at least some experience within the last year
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification
- Associate of Science in Nursing or Associate Degree in Nursing
Compliance & Documentation Requirements
- Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID)
- Social Security Card (required for badge)
- Background check within 60 days covering all locations lived/worked/schooled in past 7 years, including aliases, national criminal, federal court, sex offender, FACIS Level 3, education verification, and international searches if applicable
- Education verification by a 3rd party for nursing degree (Associate’s degree in nursing or higher required)
- Transcript/Diploma copy for highest education (if applicable)
- Negative 10-panel drug screen within 40 days of start
- Immunizations and health documents:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (proof of adult Tdap vaccine required)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray (Qgold/TSPOT within 6 months)
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) – positive titer or 2 vaccines required
- Varicella – positive titer or 2 vaccines required
- Hepatitis B – titer or declination required
- Seasonal Flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption (required during flu season)
- Fit mask test (annual, approved N95 respirators)
- Employment application/resume with 7-year work history
- Verification of employment history for last 5 years through a third party
- Two supervisory references required (one within 12 months, one within 24 months)
- Annual skills checklist with a one-week grace period for renewal
Additional Notes
- Candidates must be flexible with scheduling and aware of zero-tolerance policy for tardiness and unexcused absences
- Compliance deadline is 12 Noon EST the Wednesday prior to start date
- Facility requires a strict photo for badge (no selfies, no cropped photos, business casual or uniform attire, solid color background, forward-facing pose)
- Candidates must complete a health history form and upload prior to clearance
- Candidates must review and sign facility-specific policies including floating policy and contractor equipment acknowledgement
- Fingerprinting required only for Home Health and Long-Term Care positions (not applicable here)
