Description
Occupational Therapist – Inpatient Rehabilitation
Location: Topeka, Kansas
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 26 weeks (approximately 6 months)
Shift: Day shift, Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM (40 hours/week)
Schedule Details:
- No weekends or on-call required
- Occasionally assist with late joint cases on a rotation basis (last joint seen by 5:00 PM, out by 6:30 PM latest)
Job Description
Provide occupational therapy services within the Rehabilitation Services unit, focusing on inpatient rehab patients.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Occupational Therapist license in Kansas
- NBCOT certification
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy or related field
Compliance and Documentation Requirements
- 7-year background check with annual updates, including SS TraceCounty, Sex Offender, and Education Verification
- Annual EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks
- Primary source verification of state license
- Annual competency exams and medication/pharmacology tests as applicable
- Facility-specific documents including photo for badge, confidentiality agreements, TB questionnaire, and orientation checklists
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year of start
- Immunization requirements:
- TDAP vaccine within 10 years (highly preferred)
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines each
- Hepatitis B: Positive titer, series, or declination
- Varicella: Positive titer, 2 vaccines, or documented history
- Negative 10-panel drug screen within 1 year, including MRO signature
- Seasonal flu vaccination required during flu season (9/1–3/31)
