Job Opportunity: X-Ray Tech (Travel/Contract)
Location: Indianapolis, Indiana
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Shift: Monday to Thursday, 8:00 AM – 5:30 PM (4 days/week, 9 hours/day, 36 hours/week)
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Work exclusively in the Emergency Room (ER) setting.
- Shift schedule is Monday through Thursday with flexibility to work other days if needed.
- Facility is a Level 1 trauma center with:
- Over 30 Operating Rooms (ORs)
- 6 Intensive Care Units (ICUs)
- 70+ bed ER
- Approximately 700 inpatient beds
- Equipment used includes GE and Siemens imaging systems.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Radiology Technician license in Indiana
- Minimum 1 year of Radiology Technician experience within the last year
- ARRT certification
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- X-Ray Technician experience
Compliance and Documentation Requirements
- Valid Driver’s License or Passport (clear copy required).
- Background checks including:
- 7-year residential/employment history
- Social Security Number trace
- County, state, and national criminal checks
- National Sex Offender Registry
- FACIS Level III
- Education verification
- International background check if applicable
- Drug screening: Negative 10-panel drug test within 12 months of start date (includes amphetamines, marijuana, cocaine, opiates, PCP).
- Health documents:
- Physical exam within 12 months of start date
- Fit mask test within 12 months (specific respirators approved)
- Tuberculosis screening (PPD, QuantiFERON-TB Gold, or T-SPOT within 1 year)
- Immunizations or titers for Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Hepatitis B
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption (no declinations accepted)
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine preferred but not required
- Competency exams including medication/pharmacology test and unit competency exam.
- Color blindness testing (Ishihara exam or equivalent) with minimum 100% score required.
Additional Notes
- Call-in policy: If a traveler calls in for a contracted shift, the missed shift must be made up during the pay period or added to the end of the contract depending on FTE status.
- Facility-specific orientation and compliance forms must be completed as a priority prior to start.
- Mandatory completion of any required facility-specific training modules before orientation.
- Minimum of 2 professional references from recent employment required, verified within 2 years. References must be from supervisors or higher-level management.
- Employment application must be current and explain any employment gaps of 30 days or more within the last 7 years.
- Skills checklist must be completed within 12 months of start and updated annually.
