Job Opportunity: Neuro ICU Registered Nurse

Job Description

• Work in a fast-paced Neuro ICU treating neurological diseases and disorders such as seizures and strokes at a comprehensive stroke center.
• May also care for overflow ICU patients from Medical Surgical ICU and Heart and Vascular ICU.
• Floating required: traveler will float within a specialty cluster and may be assigned to medically appropriate units including multiple nearby campuses within 15 miles.
• Must be available to work every other weekend and holidays.
• EPIC experience required.
• Must be able to read and interpret cardiac strips.

Shift Details

• Night shift
• 4 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 PM to 7:30 AM)
• Total 48 hours per week

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Ohio
• Minimum 2 years of Neuro ICU experience, including experience within the last year
• Stroke experience in a Neuro ICU setting
• Current certifications in ACLS and BLS issued by the American Heart Association
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Required Documentation & Compliance

• Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID).
• E-Verify compliance and I-9 documentation prior to start.
• 7-year criminal background check including SSN trace, national and county checks, and sex offender registry.
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required.
• Physical exam within 2 years indicating fitness to work and free of communicable diseases.
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray; annual TB questionnaire if past positive.
• Drug screening: 9 or 10 panel negative drug screen within 12 months; marijuana panel included; random drug screening during orientation week.
• Annual flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season.
• Respiratory safety clearance within 1 year, renewed annually.
• Annual health questionnaire and candidate agreement fully completed prior to documentation due date.
• Two professional references within 2 years (one must be a manager/supervisor/charge RN) or employment verification if references unavailable.
• Current resume/application required.
• Skills checklist updated within 1 year prior to documentation due date.

Additional Notes

• Premier Health reserves the right to cancel up to 2 shifts due to low census during the 13-week contract.
• Agreement may be canceled with 2 weeks’ notice without penalty.
• Travelers are not eligible for employee incentives.
• Return to Offer (RTO) must be requested with initial application; no RTO added after offer. Approval is at manager’s discretion.

This position is ideal for experienced Neuro ICU RNs seeking a travel contract with exposure to a comprehensive stroke center and varied ICU patient populations.
