Description

Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse – Mother-Baby / Couplet Care / Post Partum

Location: Columbus, Ohio
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Night (3 shifts per week, 12 hours each; 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
Hours per Week: 36


Job Description

  • May float to units with similar patient acuity.
  • Focus on postpartum care with labor & delivery (L&D) experience required.
  • Use of EPIC electronic health record system.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Ohio
  • Minimum 2 years of postpartum nursing experience, with at least some experience within the last year
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification issued by the American Heart Association
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
  • Labor & Delivery (L&D) experience
  • Experience with EPIC electronic health record system

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous travel nursing experience.

Certifications

  • BLS (Basic Life Support) – AHA provider or instructor level.
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) – required for L&D, postpartum, and OB units.
  • EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring) certification.
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) may be required depending on unit.
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) required for ER and related units.
  • NIH Stroke Certification may be required depending on unit.
  • Annual orientation safety manual acknowledgement.
  • Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam required within 1 year of start and updated annually.
  • Medication/pharmacology competency exam prior to start.
  • Unit-specific competency exams as required.

Compliance & Facility Policies

  • Must review and sign dress code and hand hygiene policy.
  • Confidential Fraud, Waste, and Abuse reporting form and training certificate required.
  • Ethics and compliance policies must be reviewed and acknowledged annually.
  • Fingerprinting results must be submitted and approved prior to start; new fingerprinting required if break in service exceeds 90 days or results are older than 1 year.
  • Pending background check attestation required if fingerprint results are pending at start.
  • Drug testing and immunization documentation must be current and uploaded per facility requirements.

Parking Options for Travelers (Informational)

  • Various parking permits available at different price points with shuttle services; closest parking is guaranteed but highest cost.

Additional Notes

  • Candidates must be graduates of accredited nursing programs.
  • Background checks include review of all charges, including dismissed ones.
  • Fingerprinting must be completed at approved locations; results typically take 1-2 weeks.
  • Candidates without valid fit mask tests will be fit tested onsite during the first week.
  • Flu vaccine decliners must wear masks during flu season.
  • COVID-19 vaccination is strongly recommended but not required.
