Description
Registered Nurse – Rehab
Location: Rio Rancho, New Mexico
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Night (3 shifts per week, 12 hours each; 18:45–7:15)
Hours per Week: 36
Job Description
- Work in an inpatient hospital/rehabilitation setting with acute inpatient rehab patients.
- Patients typically stay about 14 days.
- Ability to fill in as charge nurse as needed (ACLS certification required if in charge nurse role).
- Every other weekend required.
- On-call is not required.
- Single unit facility.
- Navy blue scrubs and close-toed shoes required.
- Charting system: Cerner.
- Free parking available.
- No mileage reimbursement.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in New Mexico.
- Minimum 1.5 years of rehabilitation nursing experience, including experience within the last year.
- Experience working in inpatient and rehabilitation settings.
- Experience in charge nurse roles.
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
Required Documentation (to be completed prior to start)
- Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID).
- Emergency contact form.
- Background checks including 7-year work/living history, EPLS/GSA/SAM, and HHS/OIG (updated annually).
- Certifications: BLS (Basic Life Support), ACLS (if applicable), PALS (preferred).
- Competency exams as applicable.
- Signed job description.
- Employment application.
- Skills checklist (annual).
- Professional references: 2 for travel/allied/per diem acute care or 1 for per diem non-acute care (within 3 years).
- Physical exam.
- Immunization records or declinations as applicable.
- Drug screening.
- Flu vaccination documentation.
- Fingerprint results per state requirements.
Additional Information
- This is a hospital environment, not a nursing home or LTAC.
- The employer values employee skills, dignity, respect, and provides educational and training opportunities.
- Requests for time off (RTO) must be approved at time of submission; not approved after offer.
- Cannot guarantee every holiday off.
- Locals are accepted.
- No floating between units required.
