Description
Radiation Therapist (Level I) - Days
Location: Northampton, Massachusetts
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (13 weeks)
Shift: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
Job Summary
- Administer radiation therapy treatments as prescribed by a Radiation Oncologist.
- Operate within established organizational and departmental policies and procedures.
Required Qualifications
- Associate’s degree in Radiation Therapy or Radiologic Science with a certificate in Radiation Therapy from an accredited program.
- Registered or registry eligible by the ARRT; must obtain registration within one year of graduation from an accredited Radiation Therapy program.
- Valid Massachusetts State license for Radiation Therapist.
- Current American Heart Association BLS certification.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Radiation Therapist.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
Onboarding and Credential Requirements
- Submission of a recent (within 6 months) professional color photo (no selfies, filters, or eyeglasses; plain background).
- Primary source verification of professional license and/or certification within 30 days of start date; conditional licenses not accepted.
- N95 respirator fit test completed within 365 days prior to start date and updated annually (no onsite testing; must use designated form).
- Respirator Medical Clearance attestation required if fit test is required.
- Documentation of immunity or vaccination for Measles, Mumps, and Rubella (MMR) via vaccines or blood test.
- TB screening documentation within 3 months of start date, updated if break in service exceeds 6 months.
- Physician health statement signed by MD/DO/NP/PA within 365 days of start date, updated if break exceeds 6 months.
- Criminal background check within 45 days prior to start date, including international residence/travel history for last 7 years.
- Massachusetts CORI background check within 30 days prior to start date.
- National sex offender registry check within 30 days prior to start date, updated annually.
- Exclusion checks against OIG, GSA, MassHealth, and NH Medicaid lists within 30 days prior to start date, updated annually.
- Verification of highest level of education achieved.
- Social Security Number trace for last 7 years.
- Submission of a detailed resume covering the past 7 years of work experience including city and state.
- Two professional references within the last 4 years, including at least one supervisor or higher in the relevant skillset.
- Completion of a skills checklist within 1 year of submission.
- Confirmation of assignment form required upon acceptance and for any extensions.
Additional Notes
- Positive TB test requires documentation of a negative chest x-ray after the positive test.
- Name change documentation may be required if credentials do not match current legal name.
- TB symptom survey required if positive TB test, updated annually.
Experience and Travel Requirements
- 2 years of experience as a Radiation Therapist required.
- No prior travel experience required.
