Job Opportunity: Certified Surgical Technician (CST) - Operating Room (OR)

Location: Denver, Colorado
Employment Type: Travel Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Hours per Week: 36 hours

Unit Information

• Unit: Operating Room (OR) with 14 OR beds
• Staff: Approximately 70 full-time employees
• Shift Staffing:

  • Day Shift: 1 charge nurse, 1 RN and 1 Surgical Technician (ST) per OR, plus Patient Care Technicians (PCTs) and Anesthesia Technicians (ATs)
  • Night Shift: 1 charge nurse, 1 RN, 1 ST
• Patient Ratios: Estimated 1:1 (not guaranteed)
• Electronic Medical Record (EMR) System: Meditech

Required Qualifications

• Valid Certified Surgical Technologist license in Colorado
• Certified Surgical Technologist with at least 1 year of experience, including experience within the last year
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Certification from NBSTA or CST
• DORA certification
• De-escalation skills in a healthcare setting
• Knowledge of USP 800 hazardous drug risk guidelines

Preferred Qualifications

• Level I trauma experience
• Experience with Meditech EMR system

Typical Procedures Performed

• Neurosurgery and transplant surgeries
• Orthopedic and spine surgeries
