Job Opportunity: Ultrasound Tech - General

Job Description

• Cover afternoon shifts due to staffing shortage.
• Specialty area: Radiology / Cardiology (Ultrasound Tech).

Required Qualifications

• Ultrasound Technologist with at least 1 year of experience.
• Ultrasound Technologist experience within the last year.

Compliance and Background Requirements

• Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID) must be carried on assignment.
• Background check required prior to start, including:

  • FCRA-compliant 7-year search (SSN trace, counties, states, nationwide, sex offender registry, OFAC, FACIS Level 3, education verification).
  • No pending or active criminal cases; no multiple misdemeanor convictions within 7 years involving drug abuse, theft, assault, or sexual acts; no felony convictions within 7 years.
• Monthly EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks.
• Fingerprinting:

  • Must be completed within 48 hours of signed contract.
  • FBI and BCI fingerprint results required within 12 months of start and updated annually.
  • For Radiology/Cardiology specialties other than X-Ray Techs and MRI Techs, fingerprint results cannot be pending at start.
  • Additional fingerprinting may be required at the facility.
• Education verification required for all candidates.

Health and Safety Requirements

• Physical exam within 1 year of start confirming ability to safely perform job functions.
• Fit mask test (3M 1860 small/regular or 1870+) within 12 months of start, updated annually (not required for some allied roles, but required here).
• Immunizations and titers required:

  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (every 10 years, no religious exemptions accepted).
  • Negative TB test (2-step PPD or Quantiferon Gold/T-Spot) within 6 months of start; chest x-ray if prior positive TB test.
  • Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella: 2 MMR vaccines or positive titer; boosters required if titers negative or equivocal.
  • Hepatitis B: Titer, series, or declination documented.
  • Varicella: 2 vaccines or positive titer; booster if negative or equivocal.
• Drug screening: 10-panel drug screen required, updated annually (instant screens not accepted).
• Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (Oct 31 – Mar 31); declinations not accepted.

Competency and Orientation

• Unit-specific competency exam required within 12 months of start and updated annually.
• Annual safety manual acknowledgement.
• Completion of facility-specific onboarding modules prior to start (must be done on a computer using Google Chrome; video training must be completed before testing).
• Various facility checklists and acknowledgements must be completed on day 1 of orientation (e.g., confidentiality agreement, patient care checklist, IS access form, COVID-19 questionnaire).
• Photo ID badge required prior to start.
