Description
Registered Nurse (RN) - PACU
Location: Santa Fe, New Mexico
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Days, 4 rotating 10-hour shifts (8:00 AM – 6:30 PM)
Work Schedule: Full-time
Weekend Requirement: 2 weekends per month (12-hour shifts; Sat+Sun = 1 weekend)
On Call Requirement: 1 night call per week
Floating Requirement: Floating within surgical services required
EMR System: EPIC
Dress Code: Graphite Grey Scrubs
Job Summary
The Registered Nurse coordinates and implements patient care tailored to the age and needs of the patient population on assigned units. Ensures quality, efficient, and safe care consistent with unit standards. Demonstrates professionalism and respect toward staff, physicians, patients, and families.
Responsibilities
- Perform initial patient assessments and prioritize care based on age, symptoms, and psychosocial needs.
- Systematically re-assess patients to identify progress or trends requiring intervention.
- Develop and implement individualized, measurable plans of care within established nursing standards.
- Make comprehensive nursing decisions and modify care plans based on patient outcomes.
- Participate in patient and family health education and discharge planning.
- Implement and document timely interventions appropriate to patient needs.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of the plan of care.
- Perform various Point of Care testing procedures.
- Meet applicable leadership competencies (Leader of Self, Others, or Leaders).
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in New Mexico
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Minimum 1 year of recent experience in Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU)
- Current BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
- Current ACLS certification
- Current PALS certification issued by the American Heart Association
