Description

Registered Nurse - Orthopedic Surgery (Travel)

Location

  • Denver, Colorado

Job Type

  • Travel assignment

Contract Length

  • 13 weeks

Unit Information

  • Orthopedic unit with 30 beds
  • Staffing includes 1 Charge Nurse, 4-6 bedside RNs, and 2-4 Patient Care Technicians (PCTs)
  • Patient-to-nurse ratio: 1:5 or 1:6
  • Equipment used: Continuous Passive Motion (CPM) machines, nerve block pumps, On-Q balls
  • Electronic Medical Record system: Meditech

Typical Procedures

  • IV starts
  • Foley and straight catheterization
  • CPM application
  • Early mobilization of patients

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in Colorado
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
  • Minimum 1 year of orthopedic nursing experience within the last year, including orthopedic surgery experience
  • Experience in an acute care setting
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • De-escalation skills in a healthcare setting

Preferred Qualifications

  • Medical/Surgical nursing experience
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
  • Experience with Meditech EMR

Work Hours

  • Approximately 36 hours per week
