Respiratory Therapist - Illinois, Dixon
Job Details
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Shift: Nights (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
- Hours per Day: 12
- Hours per Week: 36
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend (both Saturday and Sunday, days and nights)
- Holiday Requirement: Every other holiday
- Call Requirement: No call or standby call
- Floating: No floating within Respiratory Therapy
- Dress Code: Any color scrubs; scrubs are not provided
Patient Population & Work Environment
- Treats all patient types: adults, pediatrics, and neonates
- Settings include Inpatient, Emergency Department, OB Nursery, ICU, and some outpatient diagnostics
- Average treatments per day: 10-15
- Respiratory Manager/Supervisor/Lead Therapist present on each shift
- Hospitalists on site; pulmonology coverage every other week; E-ICU utilized
Equipment Used
- Ventilators: Servo I, Drager V500
- BiPAP: Phillips V60, EV300
- High-Flow Nasal Cannula: Fisher Paykel Optiflow, Vapotherm
- Neopuff infant resuscitator
- GE EKG carts
Orientation
- 12 hours department-specific orientation including EPIC training, ventilator review, IPV and specialty item review
- Followed by two 12-hour shifts with a preceptor before working independently
Required Qualifications
- Active Illinois Respiratory Therapist license or confirmation that application process has been initiated
- Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) or Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification required
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification required
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) preferred
- Minimum 5 years of respiratory therapy experience preferred for travelers
- Neonatal resuscitation experience preferred
- Must comply with a drug-free workplace policy and produce a negative drug screen for all panels
Additional Notes
- No call shifts required
- Local rate adjustments apply for clinicians living within 50 miles
- Orientation hours (12) are non-billable and guaranteed hours do not apply during orientation
- No floating assignments within Respiratory Therapy department
