ICU Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Position

Location: Avon, Indiana
Contract Length: 8 weeks

Job Details

• Unit: Heavy Medical ICU with some surgical patients (mainly GI or carotid cases)
• Shift: Night shift, 4 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
• Ratios: 1 nurse to 2 patients
• Guaranteed Hours: Options for 8- or 10-hour shifts totaling 36-48 hours/week depending on schedule
• Weekend Requirement: Yes, varies/flexible
• On-call: No
• Floating: Yes, within scope to Acute Assessment Unit (AAU) and Medical-Surgical (MS) units
• Block Scheduling: To be discussed
• Locals Accepted: No
• Holiday Requirement: Must work 2 out of 3 major holidays

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Indiana
• Minimum 2 years of ICU (Intensive Care Unit) nursing experience, with ICU experience within the last year
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• ACLS certification
• BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association

Required Documentation & Compliance

• Valid Driver’s License or Passport (clear copy)
• Background checks including 7-year history, SSN trace, county/state/national checks, and education verification
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start
• Official transcript or diploma verifying education
• Physical exam within 12 months of start
• Fit mask test within 12 months (approved respirators only)
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
• Immunizations or positive titers required for:

  • Rubeola (Measles)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Varicella
  • Hepatitis B (series, titer, or signed declination)
• Flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season
• Negative 10-panel drug screen within 12 months
• Color blind exam (Ishihara or equivalent)
• Skills checklist within 12 months and annually thereafter
• Minimum 2 professional references from recent employment (supervisor/manager level)
• Current employment application with explanation of any gaps over 30 days in last 7 years
• Completion of facility-specific orientation packets and compliance checklists prior to start

• Must complete facility-specific self-study orientation and test prior to start
• Must comply with all facility policies and documentation deadlines
• Floating assignments and holiday work are mandatory parts of the role

This position is ideal for ICU RNs with at least 2 years of critical care experience who are comfortable working night shifts in a fast-paced, acute care environment and are open to travel assignments. First-time travel nurses are welcome.
