Description

Interventional Radiology Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

Location: Vero Beach, Florida
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Summary

  • Circulate procedures in Interventional Radiology (IR) / Interventional Neuroradiology (IN)
  • Care for patients in preparation and recovery phases
  • Day shift: 4 days per week, 10 hours per day (7:00 AM – 5:30 PM)
  • Guaranteed 36 hours for 12-hour shifts or 30 hours for 8/10-hour shifts
  • Floating required within scope to three nearby hospitals (within 20 miles)
  • On-call required: must respond within 30 minutes when on call

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in Florida (pending license accepted)
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
  • Minimum 1.5 years of Interventional Radiology experience, with experience within the last year
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
  • NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required prior to start

Compliance & Background Requirements

  • Government-issued photo ID required and must be carried during hours of service
  • 7-year criminal background check covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start and updated for renewals
  • Florida AHCA Level II fingerprint clearance required prior to start (Livescan electronic fingerprinting accepted nationwide)
  • Negative 10-panel drug screen within 1 year of start (no Florida Medical Marijuana card accepted)
  • Physical exam within 6 months of start
  • Immunizations and titers required:
    • Measles, Mumps, Rubella (2 vaccines or positive titer)
    • Hepatitis B (titer, vaccine series, or declination)
    • Varicella (2 vaccines, titer, or history of chickenpox)
    • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year (annual updates required)
    • Seasonal influenza vaccine required during flu season (medical/religious exemptions allowed)
    • COVID-19 vaccination series or approved medical/religious exemption required

Orientation & Training

  • Must complete time-sensitive online training modules prior to start (access provided after contract signing)
  • Pass/fail testing on EKG and pharmacology administered during orientation (2 attempts allowed per test)
  • HIPAA training and acknowledgment required
  • Annual competency exams and medication/pharmacology tests as applicable

Additional Requirements

  • Two professional references within 2 years required for travel positions
  • Employment application and skills checklist must be completed and updated annually
  • Must comply with facility’s smoke-free and drug-free policies
  • Must submit all requested time-off (RTO) upfront with application; late requests likely denied

  • Short-term acute care facility with approximately 180 staffed beds
  • Electronic charting system: EPIC
  • Free parking available in unrestricted spaces
