Job Opportunity: OB/GYN Sonographer
Position Details
- Employment Type: Contractor
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Shift: 8-hour Day Shift
- Hours per Week: 40
Specialty
- Sonography with focus on Maternal Fetal Medicine (OB/GYN)

- Primarily high-risk pregnancy patients
Patient Ratios
- 1:1
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of sonographer experience specifically in Maternal Fetal Medicine
- BLS certification
- ARDMS certification with specialty in OB/GYN
Skills and Competencies
- Advanced knowledge of fetal abnormalities and their diagnosis
- Proficient in performing scans of various anatomical areas and identifying cross-sectional human anatomy, distinguishing normal from abnormal to establish initial evaluation of sonograms
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and patient service skills to work effectively with physicians, patients, and staff
- Basic computer proficiency (e.g., email, electronic medical records)
Orientation
- Typically 2 weeks or until competent with workflow
Support and Team
- 3 Medical Assistants
- 3 Receptionists/Health Unit Coordinators
- 5 Registered Nurses on staff (no charge nurse)
- 2 Resource Nurses
- 4 Maternal Fetal Medicine Physicians and 3 Nurse Practitioners
- 5-6 sonographers in the department daily
Technology and Equipment
- EMR systems: EPIC and OB/GYN-specific software
- GE Voluson Ultrasound machines

- No floating required
- Scrub color: Any color allowed
- Free parking available in attached underground lot
- Team-oriented culture focused on caring for high-risk pregnant patients
Travel Experience
- First-time travelers are accepted; prior travel experience is not required
