Job Opportunity: Case Manager (Registered Nurse) - Travel/Contract

Location

  • Baltimore, Maryland

Position Details

  • Employment Type: Travel/Contract
  • Shift: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM (5 days x 8 hours)
  • Contract Length: 16 weeks
  • No on-call requirement; weekend shifts optional if available and needed
  • Holiday shifts may be required (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day)
  • Float requirement: Must float across MedSurg units within the patient tower as needed
  • Local rate applies within 60 miles of the facility

Job Description

  • Role: Case Manager RN
  • Work setting includes outpatient clinic and acute hospital environment
  • Responsibilities include care coordination, discharge planning, needs assessment, and ordering durable medical equipment (DME)
  • Must have medical inpatient experience
  • Acute case management experience required
  • Regulatory knowledge: CMS, HIPAA compliance

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Maryland
  • Minimum 3 years of Care Manager experience, including Acute Care Case Management
  • Care Manager experience within the last year
  • At least one completed travel assignment as a Care Manager
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
  • Experience in both Clinic and Inpatient settings

Orientation

  • Scheduled orientation dates: July 14 or July 28

Compliance and Certifications

  • Flu vaccination required annually (medical/religious exemptions subject to strict approval)
  • Drug screen within 90 days of start (excluding marijuana)
  • Annual physical exam confirming ability to work without accommodations and free from communicable disease
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year; annual TB questionnaire required
  • Immunization documentation required for:
    • Measles (Rubeola)
    • Mumps
    • Rubella
    • Hepatitis B (titer, series, or declination)
    • Varicella
    • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (Tdap preferred within 10 years)
  • Additional certifications may be required based on unit assignment (e.g., ACLS, PALS, NRP, TNCC, EFM)

Background Checks and Verifications

  • Criminal background check within 90 days covering all locations lived/worked/schooled in past 7 years
  • Education verification for highest degree required by position
  • Employment verification for at least 2 of the past 7 years
  • I9/E-Verify attestation required prior to start
  • Monthly EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks prior to and during employment

Competency Requirements

  • Medication/pharmacology competency exam within 3 years, minimum 80% score
  • Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam required if assigned to specific units (e.g., ICU, Telemetry, Cardiac units), with annual updates and remediation if needed
  • Color blindness testing (online or in-person) required

Additional Notes

  • Valid driver’s license required if driving is an essential job function
  • Facility-specific modules (SITELS) must be completed prior to start date
  • Photo for badge must meet specified criteria (clear, centered, no glare, solid background)
  • Annual recertification requirements apply for certain roles
  • N95 fit test within 9 months of start and updated annually (client may complete onsite)
  • Candidate must be able to float across MedSurg units as needed
