Description

Diagnostic Imaging Ultrasonographer (Contract)

Location: Hilo, Hawaii
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Description

  • Perform diagnostic imaging procedures including:
    • Abdomen: Aorta, IVC, Liver/Biliary, Pancreas, Spleen, Renal (normal and pathology)
    • Gynecological: Breast, ovaries, adnexa, uterus, pelvis (normal, pathology, post-menopausal, transvaginal, adult and pediatric)
    • Obstetrics: 1st, 2nd, and 3rd trimester; amniocentesis; complications; biophysical profile; gestational age; placental grading; abnormalities; IUGR; uterus/adnexa
    • Neonatal: Congenital anomalies and neonatal head
    • Superficial structures: Abdominal wall, breast, focal masses, hematoma, scrotum & testes, thyroid
    • Vascular: Carotid duplex, segmental pressure studies, upper and lower extremity venous and arterial duplex
  • Perform procedures such as aspirations, biopsies, drainage, and intraoperative imaging
  • Use equipment including Canon i700 ultrasound machine, Meditech EMR, and Fuji Synapse PACS
  • May float to other units or departments as needed
  • 40-hour work week with variable shifts and on-call duties when appropriate
  • Dress code: Personal scrubs or healthcare professional attire

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of experience as an Ultrasound Technologist
  • Ultrasound Technologist experience within the last year
  • Experience in an acute care setting
  • ARDMS certification
  • BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association

Additional Information

  • Must arrive the Thursday before the start date for an employee health appointment on Friday
  • Variable shift schedule with potential call responsibilities
