Job Opportunity: Ultrasound Tech - General
Location: Saint Paul, Minnesota
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology
- Shift: Primarily day shifts with occasional overnight or weekend shifts as needed
- Possible Shift Times:
- 7:30 AM - 3:30 PM
- 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM
- 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM
- 11:00 AM - 11:00 PM
- 6:00 PM - 6:00 AM
- Daily Caseload: 40-70 patients per tech
- Number of Rooms: 7
- Guaranteed Hours:
- 8, 10, or 12-hour shifts available
- Minimum 36 hours/week for 12-hour shifts
- Minimum 40 hours/week for shifts less than 12 hours
- Weekend Requirement: Work weekends as needed per department needs
- On-call: Not required
- Floating: Clinician may float within scope to meet facility needs; no floating to sister facilities
- Block Schedule: Not accommodated
- Locals Accepted: Yes
- Pending State License Accepted: Yes
- Return to Office (RTO) Restrictions: Ideally no more than 5 days
Required Experience & Skills
- Minimum Experience: 1 year in specialty required
- First-time Travelers: Accepted
- Work Setting Experience: Outpatient, Inpatient, Emergency Room, Teaching Hospital, Community Hospital
- General Skills: PACS, Portables, Biopsies
- Equipment Experience: Phillips scanners
- Documentation System: EPIC
- Certifications/Licenses Required:
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- RDMS-AB (Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer - Abdomen)
- RDMS-OB (Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer - Obstetrics)
- RVT (Registered Vascular Technologist)

Required Qualifications
- Ultrasound Technologist with at least 1 year of experience, including experience within the last year
- Current BLS certification
- RDMS-AB certification
- RDMS-OB certification
- RVT certification
- Experience working in outpatient and inpatient settings
- Experience with Epic documentation system
Additional Requirements
- Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam required
- Annual Skills Checklist required
- Compliance with facility uniform guidelines
- No drug testing required for client clearance (9-panel acceptable if done within 1 year)
- References not required for client clearance but may be required for per diem roles
- Candidates must complete the Minnesota DHS Net Study Questionnaire immediately after signing contract to initiate fingerprinting process
- Candidates must complete all required immunizations and health screenings prior to or shortly after start date as specified
Notes
- Candidates with latex allergy should be aware the facility is latex-free
- Candidates with approved Tdap exemptions will have patient care restrictions and must wear a droplet mask at all times
- Parking is available with validation for the first day; subsequent parking fees apply depending on shift and location
- Floating within scope is expected; no floating to sister facilities
- Block scheduling is not available for this position
