Description
CVOR Tech - Surgical Services
Location: Winston Salem, North Carolina
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Schedule
- 10-hour day shifts, Monday to Friday, 6:30 AM – 5:00 PM
- Call required 10 days per month, including one weekend per month
Unit & Patient Population
- 3 operating rooms
- Adult and geriatric patients (20s to 90s)
- Procedures include: Aortic and Mitral Valve surgeries, ASD, Redo Surgeries, Esophagogastrectomy, CABG (with/without valve repair/replacement), VATS, Thoracotomy, Mediastinoscopy, Mitral Clip, TAVR, Ascending Aortic Aneurysm Repair, Groin Exploration, Port-a-Cath Placement, Robotic Thoracic Surgery, Carotid Endarterectomy, IABP insertion/removal, Myxoma Removal, Pneumonectomy, Chamberlin Procedure, Tracheostomy, VSD
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a CVOR Technologist
- CVOR Technologist experience within the last year
- BLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
Preferred Qualifications
- CNOR certification
- Scrub experience
Required Certifications & Compliance
- Basic Life Support (BLS) – AHA or American Red Cross accepted
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) may be required depending on unit specifics
- Background checks including local, federal, and national criminal databases, education verification, and others as applicable
- Drug screening within 30 days of start (10-panel, negative result required)
- Physical exam within 1 year of start (or within 30 days if past positive TB)
- Fit testing for N95 mask or completion of PAPR training (not required for non-clinical)
- Immunizations and titers required: Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Hepatitis B (with facility-specific declination if applicable)
- Negative TB test or chest x-ray within required timeframes
- Flu vaccination or approved exemption with mask requirement during flu season
- Completion of facility-specific education modules and orientation checklists
- Medication safety training and competency exams as applicable
- Color blindness testing within 1 year of start
- Competency exams and skills checklists as applicable
Additional Requirements
- Must complete facility-specific onboarding documents including confidentiality agreements, hospital policies, and compliance training
- Photo for badge required (passport style, white background, business attire)
- Must complete Corp ID setup and I-Learn login within required timeframes prior to start
- References: 2 professional references within 3 years (not required for non-clinical)
- Employment application must be uploaded prior to start
- Radiation badge required if applicable (not typical for CVOR Tech but noted for certain tech roles)
- State-specific registry and exclusion list checks required within 90 days prior to start
Important Notes
- No RTO (Return to Office) after booking allowed; call-offs or additional RTO may result in cancellation
- Interview with manager required before offer
- Unit accepts contracts for 13 weeks only
