Description
Job Opportunity: OB/GYN Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)
Location: Perham, Minnesota
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Immediate start needed.
- Work primarily in Obstetrics (OB); if OB is closed, float to Medical/Surgical (Med/Surg) units.
- Patient population includes OB and Med/Surg care.
- Schedule: 72 hours every 2 weeks, 12-hour shifts rotating day and night, every third weekend required.
- Shift details: 12-hour day/night rotation (Day: 7:00 AM–7:00 PM, Night: 7:00 PM–7:00 AM).
- Local candidates are welcome.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Minnesota.
- Minimum of 1 year of OB/GYN nursing experience, with recent OB/GYN experience within the last year.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
- Medical-Surgical (Med Surg) nursing experience.
Background and Compliance Requirements
- Background check within 1 year of start, including SS trace, county searches for last 7 years, nationwide, and sex offender registry.
- Annual EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required.
- Minnesota DHS NetStudy Fingerprint clearance required before start:
- Candidate must complete MN DHS Net Study Questionnaire immediately after signing contract.
- Fingerprints must be completed within 2 weeks of registration.
- Candidates cannot start with fingerprints pending unless a “more time needed” letter is approved.
- If candidate holds a MN permanent RN license issued on or after 1/1/2018, DHS clearance exemption applies but fingerprinting is still required.
- Fingerprint appointments may require travel if no local livescan locations are available.
Work Hours
- 36 hours per week (3 shifts of 12 hours each).
- Rotating day and night shifts with every third weekend required.
Additional Notes
- Prior travel experience is not explicitly required.
- Candidates must be prepared to float between OB and Med/Surg units as needed.
