Job Opportunity: Occupational Therapist - Pediatrics (Outpatient)

Location: Everett, Washington
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Day shift, 5 days a week, 8 hours per day (8:00 AM - 5:00 PM)
Hours per Week: 40


Job Description

  • Outpatient Pediatric Occupational Therapist role.
  • Start date: ASAP.
  • No weekends or float required.
  • First-time travelers are not accepted.
  • Locals are not accepted.
  • Clinician may be called off for one 8-hour shift per two-week period.
  • Facility uses EPIC for charting.
  • Parking is paid by the facility.
  • Scrub color: Any except reddish orange.
  • Facility is a Level II Trauma Center with 571 staffed beds across campuses.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Pediatric Occupational Therapist license in Washington.
  • Minimum 1 year of Pediatric Occupational Therapist experience within the last year.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Current NBCOT (National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy) certification.

Background and Compliance Requirements

  • Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID).
  • Social Security Card (as applicable for I9 and state registry).
  • Background check within 90 days of start, covering all locations lived/worked in the past 7 years; must be updated annually.
  • Additional background screenings including EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG within 30 days of start, updated monthly.
  • Education verification required.
  • Washington State Patrol Search (WATCH) required within 90 days of start.
  • Drug screening: 9-panel drug screen within 12 months of start.
  • Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO.
  • Respiratory safety clearance required annually for travel candidates.
  • Immunizations and health documents required:
    • TDAP vaccine within 10 years (declination accepted).
    • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months, updated annually.
    • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer.
    • Hepatitis B vaccination or signed declination.
    • Varicella vaccination or positive titer.
    • Seasonal flu vaccine during flu season (declination accepted).
    • COVID vaccination record preferred; declinations accepted with adherence to masking policies.

Certifications (Must be current and valid)

  • Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • NBCOT Certification
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) – verify if required per clinical track
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) – verify if required per clinical track
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) – verify if required per clinical track
  • Other certifications (e.g., Chemotherapy, TNCC, EFM) only if applicable per clinical track or specialty requirements.

Competencies and Training

  • Medication/Pharmacology competency exam as applicable.
  • Competency exams required as applicable by specialty.
  • Annual completion of facility-specific and regional regulatory training modules via LMS.
  • EPIC training modules required prior to or shortly after orientation.

Additional Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 professional references covering at least 1 year of employment in a comparable specialty/setting within the last 3 years.
  • Employment application covering at least the last 5 years.
  • Skills checklist updated annually (if applicable).
  • Passport-style badge photo with neutral background required.
  • Float policy acknowledgment: may be required to float to other nearby facilities.
