Dietitian Travel/Contract Job in Greensboro, North Carolina
Job Details
- Position: Dietitian
- Location: Greensboro, NC
- Employment Type: Travel/Contract
- Shift: Day shift, Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM (5x8 hour shifts)
- Float: Float to other units/campuses as needed
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Provide dietary services primarily for adult inpatient units (18+ years old)
- Support team during new staff training
- Patient population includes diverse disease states and patients requiring tube feeding and TPN management
- Work mainly at one primary hospital campus with possible support at others
- Typical patient diagnoses: heart failure, hypertension, diabetes, stroke, trauma, orthopedic, oncology, renal failure, GI issues, CAD, COPD, respiratory failure, etc.
- Units served may include Med ICU, CV ICU, Neuro ICU, PICU, progressive care, medical/surgical, rehabilitation, orthopedic, pediatric, obstetrics, and neonatal ICU
- Use of clinical tools such as CMO, ventilators, Cortrak tube placement service
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) license in North Carolina
- Minimum 1 year of experience as a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN), including recent experience within the last year
- Experience in acute care and inpatient settings
- Competency in Nutrition Focused Physical Exam (NFPE)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Successful completion of Dysrhythmia/EKG exam
Compliance and Documentation Requirements
- Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID)
- Social Security Card (required for badge issuance)
- Background check within 60 days covering all locations lived/worked/schooled in past 7 years, including aliases, criminal, sex offender, federal court, education verification, and international searches if applicable
- Education verification: Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition or related field required; Master’s preferred
- Foreign equivalency evaluation if education obtained outside the U.S. (must be submitted within 30 days after start)
- Employment application/resume with 7-year work history
- Verification of all employment within last 5 years through third-party vendor
- Two supervisory references from clinical assignments within last 24 months (at least one within 12 months)
- Annual skills checklist with a one-week grace period for renewal
Certifications and Exams
- Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA or ARC approved
- Pass/Fail EKG exam required for all RNs (Dietitians must be aware of this requirement)
- EPIC test required for allied health professionals including dietitians (2 attempts allowed, 80% passing score)
- Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement
- Acknowledgement of Pass/Fail Testing (EKG/Medication)
- Medication/Pharmacology competency exam as applicable
- Color Blind Testing (online) as applicable
Health and Immunization Requirements
- Negative 10-panel drug screen within 40 days of start
- Proof of adult Tdap vaccination
- TB test (Qgold/TSPOT) within 6 months of start or chest X-ray if history of positive TB
- TB questionnaire within 30 days of start and updated annually
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR) immunity via positive titer or 2 vaccines at least 28 days apart
- Hepatitis B titer or declination with booster series as needed
- Varicella immunity via positive titer or 2 vaccines at least 28 days apart
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption during flu season (9/22/2025 – 2/27/2026)
- Fit mask test completed within current calendar year and updated annually (N95 respirators approved)
Facility Policies
- Zero tolerance for tardiness and unexcused absences
- Floating to other units required
- Strict photo requirements for badge (no selfies, no hats, solid color background, business casual or uniform attire)
- Completion of health history form and upload prior to clearance
- Review and sign floating policy and contractor equipment acknowledgement form
- Workday login and onboarding tasks must be completed before arrival
