Registered Nurse (RN) – Med Surg/Telemetry / Progressive Care Unit (PCU) (Days)

Job Description

• Provide professional and clinical nursing care as part of an interdisciplinary team.
• May be required to float within the same discipline across local campuses.
• Work 36-40 hours per week; overtime billable after 40 hours.
• Required to work 1-2 of 3 summer holidays: Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day.
• Use of EPIC electronic medical record system.
• Night shift differential: 16 hours.
• Overtime/Holiday pay multiplier: 1.15x.
• Call back pay multiplier: 1.5x with a minimum 2-hour call back.
• On-call pay available.
• Additional pay for charge/preceptor roles.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience.
• Illinois and Iowa state nursing licenses required.
• Must not have been employed by this health system in the last 12 months.
• Experience managing chest tubes, femstops, tracheostomies, continuous bladder irrigations (CBIs), drains, and central lines.
• Familiarity with titration of medications including Amiodarone, Cardizem, Nitro, Insulin, Heparin, Dopamine, Dobutamine, Isuprel, Milrinone, Argatroban.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Completed skills checklist within 1 year of application.
• License verification and copy of required certifications.
• Work history/resume and one supervisory reference required at submission.
• Must have a taxable address located more than 50 miles from the facility.

Preferred Qualifications

• At least 1 prior travel nursing contract completed.

Orientation

• Orientation dates offered regularly throughout the year (specific dates available upon request).

Additional Notes

• Facility is a Level 1 trauma center.
• Regional trauma center levels vary by nearby locations (Level 2, 3, and 4 trauma centers in the region).
