Physical Therapist (Travel) - Plano, Texas

Job Details

  • Employment Type: Travel
  • Contract Length: 13 weeks
  • Work Hours: 36 hours per week
  • Shift: Day shift (8:00 AM – 4:30 PM)
  • Weekend Requirement: Must work 2 weekend shifts per month on a rotating basis
  • Patient Care Setting: Acute Care Hospital (Level 1 Trauma, Neuroscience, ICUs, ECMO, Burn, Oncology, Orthopedics & Spine) and Inpatient Rehabilitation (40 beds)
  • Unit Size: 600 beds total; Rehabilitation Therapy Services include Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, and Speech Therapy
  • Staffing: 27 full-time Physical Therapists on staff
  • Electronic Medical Record (EMR): Meditech
  • On-Call/Floating: No on-call or floating requirements

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Physical Therapist license in Texas
  • Minimum 1 year of Physical Therapist experience, including experience within the last year
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Experience in Rehabilitation settings
  • Experience in Long Term Acute Care settings
  • De-escalation skills in healthcare settings
  • Experience working collaboratively with Occupational Therapists and Speech Language Pathologists

Typical Responsibilities

  • Provide one-on-one physical therapy treatments to patients across all floors and buildings
  • Utilize therapy equipment such as walking aids, bikes, bars, and treadmills
  • Work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams in a fast-paced acute care and rehab environment
