Job Opportunity: Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT)
Location: Maryville, Tennessee
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Day shift, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 AM – 7:30 PM)
Hours per Week: 36 hours
Job Description
- Work schedule includes weekend coverage every other weekend.
- Medication systems used: Pyxis and Omnicell.
- Must have experience in adult critical care and emergency department settings.
- Must have at least 2 years of experience as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT).
- Must have 1 year of experience with EPIC electronic health record system.
Requirements/Qualifications
- Valid Respiratory Therapist license in Tennessee
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Respiratory Therapist
- Respiratory Therapist experience within the last year
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification
- Experience working with adult patients
- Experience with Epic electronic health record system
Required Certifications and Licenses
- Tennessee CRT license (state license specific to Respiratory Therapist).
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) – AHA or ARC only, RQI acceptable.
- BLS (Basic Life Support) – AHA or ARC only, RQI acceptable.
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) – AHA or ARC only, RQI acceptable.
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) – AHA Advanced only.
- National Respiratory Therapist Certification (NBRC RRT or CRT acceptable).
- Additional certifications may be required based on unit specifics (e.g., TNCC, ENPC, EFM, MAB, CPI).
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT).
- Experience in adult critical care and emergency department environments.
- At least 1 year of EPIC system experience.
Compliance and Background Requirements
- Valid Driver’s License required immediately upon signing for computer access and must be carried on duty.
- Background check covering 7 years of history, including all states and counties lived/worked in during that period.
- E-Verify or attestation required.
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start and every 30 days thereafter.
- Fingerprinting required if applicable based on residency/work history.
- Education verification of highest level completed.
- Drug screening within 1 year of start, updated annually (5-panel minimum).
- Physical exam within 1 year of start attesting ability to meet job demands.
- Immunization and health document requirements including:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years if working in high-risk areas)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 90 days of start
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella immunity or vaccination documentation
- Hepatitis B vaccination series, positive titer, or signed declination
- Seasonal flu vaccine or approved exemption (not required for remote workers)
Orientation and Training
- Completion of online modules within 72 hours of assignment (approximately 12 hours).
- Pass/fail testing for medication and arrhythmia competency required prior to start.
- Annual competency exams and core training modules required.
- Respirator fit test completed onsite during orientation.
- Badge photo required prior to start.
