Registered Nurse (RN) – Specialty Surgical Unit

Location: Seaford, Delaware
Employment Type: Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: 12-hour night shifts
Hours per Week: 36

Unit Overview

• Specialty Surgical Unit focused on post-operative care for total joint, bariatric, cardiothoracic, and general surgical patients
• Unit size: 15 beds
• Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:5
• Equipment: EPIC computerized charting system, CPM machines for orthopedic patients
• Dress code: Navy blue scrubs

Job Responsibilities

• Provide post-operative care to surgical patients as described above
• Perform thorough patient assessments and interpret telemetry readings
• Work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• May be required to float to Med/Surg, Progressive Care Unit, and Clinical Decision Unit

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of nursing experience
• Ability to read and interpret telemetry
• Current Delaware RN license or compact RN license
• BLS certification (AHA) required
• Preferred: Experience with EPIC electronic health records

Schedule and Orientation

• 3 consecutive 12-hour shifts per week, primarily nights
• Weekend shifts may be required based on unit needs
• Orientation includes corporate onboarding followed by 3-12 hour shifts before working independently

• Candidate must reside outside a 100-mile radius of Seaford, DE
• Time off requests during initial assignment should be communicated in advance
