Registered Nurse - PACU/ICU (Travel/Contract)
Location: Clinton, Maryland
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Position involves working in Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) and Intensive Care Unit (ICU) settings.
- Start dates available: July 13 or July 27 (ASAP start preferred).
- Schedule: 5 days per week, 8-hour shifts with two possible shift times: 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM or 11:00 AM - 7:30 PM.
- Rotation includes day, mid, and night shifts.
- Call requirement: Approximately 5-6 calls per six-week period during day/evening hours.
- Float requirement: Must be able to float to cover ICU as needed.
- Weekend shifts: 2 weekends per 6 weeks.
- Scrubs provided.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Maryland.
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
- Minimum 1 year of recent Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) experience, including pediatric PACU and post-anesthetic care.
- Experience working with pediatric patients.
- Minimum ICU (Intensive Care Unit) experience.
- Completion of at least one prior travel nursing assignment.
- Current certifications:
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
Compliance & Documentation Requirements
- Valid driver's license required if driving is an essential job function.
- Criminal background check within 90 days of start, covering all locations lived/worked/schooled in past 7 years.
- I9 and E-Verify attestation required prior to start.
- Drug screen within 90 days of start (excluding marijuana), covering multiple substances.
- Annual physical exam confirming ability to perform job duties without accommodations and free from communicable disease.
- Immunizations and health documentation required:
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year (with additional requirements if history of TB).
- Documentation of immunity or vaccination for Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Hepatitis B.
- Tdap vaccine within last 10 years preferred.
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season.
- N95 Fit Test within 9 months of start and updated annually (not required for Sterile Processing Tech).
- Completion of facility-specific orientation modules prior to start date.
- Medication/Pharmacology competency exam and Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam required prior to start and updated regularly.
- Two positive supervisory references supporting at least 2 years of experience within the last 3 years.
- Complete 7 years of work history with no gaps, including education, employment, license, and contact information.

- This is a travel/contract position with locals within 60 miles accepted at a lower rate.
- The role requires flexibility to float between PACU and ICU units.
- The position demands strong pediatric and critical care nursing skills.
