Description

Registered Nurse - Transplant Surgery (Travel)

Location: Dallas, Texas
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Employment Type: Travel


Unit Information

  • Department: Transplant Services (Abdominal - Liver, Kidney, Pancreas)
  • Setting: Outpatient (Floor C-240)
  • Staff Size: 60-70 RNs
  • Shift: Day shift, Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
  • Patient Ratios: Not specified
  • Work Type: Primarily desk work requiring proficient computer skills (MediTech, TransChart, PatientKeeper, Microsoft Office)
  • Typical Activities:
    • Desk duties with computer documentation
    • Potential clinic days involving rooming and assessing patients
    • Occasional WebEx meetings

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas
  • Minimum 1 year of transplant nursing experience, including experience within the last year
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
  • Experience with MEDITECH electronic health record system

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2 or more years of transplant experience
  • Experience with United Network of Organ Sharing (UNOS)
  • Experience with Organ Procurement Organization (OPO)

  • Dress Code: Royal blue scrubs or business casual
  • Floating: Not applicable
  • Weekends/On-call: Not required

This travel RN role supports outpatient transplant services focusing on abdominal organ transplants. The position involves primarily desk-based work with some patient interaction during clinic days.
