Registered Nurse - Cardiac Cath Lab (Travel)

Job Summary

• Work in a Cardiac Catheterization Lab with a 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM shift, Monday through Friday.
• Required to take 11-13 call days per month, including 2 weekends.
• Call coverage includes 1 winter holiday and 1 summer holiday.
• The unit is a smaller, boutique-style hospital environment with a laid-back, supportive team.
• The department has two cath labs and a slower pace with occasional busy days.

• Staff: 8 total (including 2 PRN Techs and 1 Shared RN)
• Day Shift Staffing: 2 RNs, 3 full-time Techs, 2 PRN Techs, 1 Shared RN
• Night Shift: 3-person on-call team
• Patient Ratios: Not specified
• Equipment: Philips, GE, Pyxis, MacLab
• EMR System: Meditech

Typical Procedures

• Cardiac catheterizations
• Transesophageal echocardiograms (TEE) / Cardiovascular Nurses (CVNs)
• Pacemaker implants
• Peripheral vascular studies (PVS)
• Electrophysiology (EP) ablations
• Pulmonary embolism (PE) / Deep vein thrombosis (DVT) thrombectomies
• Lexiscan injections for nuclear medicine stress tests

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas
• Minimum 3 years of Cardiac Cath Lab nursing experience, including experience within the last year
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with MacLab monitoring (training available)
• Experience circulating EP procedures (training available)
