Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) - Travel Position
Location: Augusta, Georgia
Setting: Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit
Unit Information
- Unit Type: Inpatient Rehabilitation
- Number of Beds: 28
- Staff Composition:
- Full-time Therapy Staff: 4 PT, 1 PTA, 4 OT, 2 COTA, 2 Techs
- PRN Staff: 3 SLP, 25 OT/PT
- Patient Ratios:
- PT and OT: 4 to 6 patients per day
- SLP: 6 to 8 patients per day (30 to 45 minute sessions), depending on referrals
- Equipment Used: VitalStim, Bioness, Pneuvest, BITS Visual and Cognitive Program
- Electronic Medical Record (EMR): Meditech
- Dress Code: Black scrubs
Job Responsibilities & Procedures
- Bedside Swallow Exam
- Modified Barium Swallow Study (MBSS)
- Dysphagia assessment and treatment
- Cognitive assessment and treatment
- Stroke rehabilitation
- Use of VitalStim and Fiberoptic Endoscopic Evaluation of Swallowing (FEES) preferred
- Occasional urgent evaluations for swallow or diet concerns
Required Qualifications
- Valid Speech Language Pathologist license in Georgia
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Speech Language Pathologist, including experience within the last year
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
- ASHA Certification (Certificate of Clinical Competence - CCC)
- Experience with Modified Barium Swallow Study (MBSS)
- Experience in dysphagia assessment and treatment
- Experience in cognitive assessment and treatment
- Experience in stroke rehabilitation
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with VitalStim
- Experience with FEES
- Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) experience

- Hours per week: 36
