Description

Registered Nurse (Cardiology Clinic) - Contract Position

Location: State College, Pennsylvania
Employment Type: Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Monday to Friday, Day Shift (8 am - 5 pm)
Hours per Week: 40


Job Summary

Provide professional nursing care to patients following established standards and healthcare practices. Assist providers with patient care and education. Participate actively as a member of the healthcare team to engage patients, families, and caregivers in coordinating patient care.


Required Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Pennsylvania
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
  • Minimum of 1 year of cardiology nursing experience within the last year
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Practical nursing principles and skills for quality patient care, including examination, diagnostic and treatment procedures
  • Understanding of medication effects and patient education principles
  • Knowledge of common safety hazards and precautions in a clinical setting
  • Familiarity with office procedures, medical terminology, ICD-10, and CPT coding guidelines
  • Ability to communicate clearly and follow written and verbal instructions from physicians
  • Calm and effective response during emergency situations
  • Problem identification, prioritization, quick decision-making, and recommending effective solutions
  • Ability to administer various medications and treatments and use examination and treatment equipment

Working Conditions

  • Fast-paced, high-traffic medical office environment
  • Potential exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, medicinal preparations, bodily fluids, and other clinic-related conditions
  • May require irregular hours and travel to other office locations

Physical Demands

  • Full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients
  • Manual and finger dexterity, hand-eye coordination
  • Extended periods of sitting, standing, and walking
  • Occasional lifting and carrying of items up to 50 pounds
  • Corrected vision and hearing within normal range required
