Respiratory Therapist (Contract)
Job Details
- Employment Type: Contractor
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Shift: 12-hour Day Shift
- Hours per Week: 36
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of respiratory therapy experience
- Certifications: BLS, ACLS, CRT or RRT
- COVID-19 vaccine required
Skills and Competencies
- Ventilator management including AVEA, Servo U, LPU 1200, parapack vents for MRI, and Hamilton vents for transport
- Proficient in CPAP, BiPAP, nebulizer treatments, A-line placement, intubation, ventilator weaning, extubation, and arterial blood gases (ABGs)
- Experience with EPIC charting system and Pyxis medication system
Patient Population and Ratios
- Primarily geriatrics and adults, some pediatrics in the Emergency Department
- Patient ratio: 1:1
Work Environment and Support
- Level III Trauma Center with Level III NICU and Comprehensive Stroke Center designation
- Magnet designated facility
- Floating within hospital to all units
- Orientation includes at least one shift to learn unit flow
- Free parking available
- Scrub color: Any except camo or denim
Scheduling and Policies
- Weekend rotation every other weekend
- Time off approval up to 7 days
- On-call requirements vary
- Block scheduling not accommodated
- Fatigue policy limits work to no more than 60 hours per week or 5 consecutive 12-hour shifts
