Description

Registered Nurse - ICU (Travel)

Location: Plano, Texas
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
Hours per Week: 36


Unit and Work Environment

  • Unit: ICU / CCU (Critical Care Unit)
  • Number of Beds: 36 CCU beds, 30 Burn Trauma ICU beds
  • Patient Ratio: 2:1
  • Staffing: Supervisor on every shift, Patient Care Technicians (PCT) support
  • Documentation System: Meditech (experience preferred)
  • Scheduling: Every other weekend required
  • Floating Policy: As needed

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas
  • Minimum 2 years of ICU (Intensive Care Unit) experience, including experience within the last year
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
  • Current ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification
  • Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Meditech documentation system
  • Additional certifications such as TNCC, CCRN, TCRN preferred

Clinical Skills and Procedures

  • Experience with central line insertions
  • Arterial line insertions
  • Thoracotomies
  • Bedside tracheostomies
  • Chest tube insertions

Dress Code and Appearance Standards

  • Scrub Color: Royal Blue for RNs
  • Nail Policy: Clean and healthy nails; no artificial nails, gel, or similar enhancements
  • Hair: Neat, clean, no extreme styles or colors; hair shoulder length or longer must be pulled back in the lab
  • Facial Hair: Beards, mustaches, and sideburns must be clean and neatly trimmed
  • Tattoos: Should be covered whenever possible; uncovered body art addressed individually
  • Piercings: Only ear piercings allowed; visible piercings such as nose or tongue rings are prohibited

Additional Notes

  • Weekend work and call requirements to be discussed during the interview
  • Candidates without the required skills and certifications will not be considered
