Registered Nurse - ICU

Location: Bowling Green, Kentucky

Unit: ICU/CCU
Number of Beds: 16
Patient Ratios: Typically 2:1, occasionally 3:1
Staffing: Unit secretaries and tech availability varies; tech staffed depending on census
Equipment Used: Impella, GE monitors, Temporary Pacemakers, EKOS, IABP, Artic Sun, Hemodynamic monitoring
Documentation System: Meditech
Floating Policy: Float in rotation with core staffing
Scheduling: Flexible scheduling options with teamwork environment; mix of day and night shifts

Required Certifications & Licenses

Registered Nurse License
BLS (Basic Life Support)
ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
NIH Certification

Requirements/Qualifications

Valid RN license in Kentucky
Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
Minimum 2 years of ICU (Intensive Care Unit) experience, including experience within the last year
BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification
NIHSS certification
Proficient in central line insertions
Proficient in dialysis catheter insertions

Dress Code

Scrubs of any color allowed
No denim, capris, or camouflage patterns

Additional Information

The unit has received recognition such as the Daisy Award implemented by Critical Care RNs
Staff have engaged in community support activities like making blankets for hospice patients
The unit offers a supportive, team-oriented environment with experienced staff and new technology available
