Description
Registered Nurse (RN) – Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR)
Location: Midland, Michigan
Employment Type: Temporary
Shift: Days
Hours per Day: 10
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
- Assess and address the needs of each patient before and during cardiovascular surgical procedures, maintaining patient safety.
- Develop, implement, evaluate, and document individualized care plans throughout the procedure.
- Provide leadership and supervision to the OR team, including coordinating schedule changes and assembling necessary equipment and supplies.
- Assist anesthesia as needed and monitor the sterile field.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, physicians, OR team members, supervisors, and ancillary departments.
- Participate in staff development through preceptorship, continuing education, and attendance at educational meetings.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 3+ years of Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) experience.
- Open Heart surgical experience is required.
- Prior travel work experience is required.
- Willingness to float to General OR as needed.
- Active Michigan Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Submission of a skills checklist relevant to CVOR, current within 1 year.
- Two supervisory reference forms completed within the last two years.
- Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility (local candidates within this radius will not be considered).

- The position involves working in a 324-bed medical center offering a broad range of primary and specialty care services, including 24-hour emergency and Level II trauma care.
