Job Opportunity: Certified Surgical Technician (CST) - Operating Room

• Lee's Summit, Missouri

Contract Length

• 13 weeks

Work Schedule

• 36 hours per week
• 10-hour shifts

  • One position: 6:30 AM to 5:00 PM
  • Another position: 10:30 AM to 9:00 PM
• 2 to 6 days of on-call per month

Unit Details

• Surgery unit with 5 operating rooms
• Patient ratio: 1 RN to 1 patient
• Staffing includes 5-6 RNs, 6 techs, 1 anesthesia tech, and 1 OR analyst per day
• Standard OR equipment used
• Documentation system: Meditech
• No floating policy
• Hospital provides scrubs as the required uniform

Procedures Performed

• Orthopedic
• Spine
• Vascular (strong vascular skills preferred)
• General Surgery
• Colorectal
• Robotic surgery
• Gynecology (GYN)
• Ear, Nose, and Throat (ENT)

Required Qualifications

• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) with a minimum of 2 years of experience
• Experience as a Certified Surgical Technologist within the last year
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Education on hazardous drug risk management according to USP 800
• Experience with MEDITECH
