Job Opportunity: Emergency Room Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

Location: Largo, Maryland
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Start Date: July 13, 2026
Shift: Days, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:30 AM – 8:00 PM)
Hours per Week: 36 hours

Job Summary

• Work in the Emergency Department (ED) with a patient-to-nurse ratio of approximately 1:4 (up to 1:5 for lower acuity patients)
• Average daily census: 140 patients
• Unit beds: 46
• Patient age group: All ages
• Common patient diagnoses: Chest pain, stroke, sepsis, cardiac arrest, trauma, respiratory illness/arrest
• Use of specialized equipment including Belmont (trauma), Giraffe warmer (neonates), Rapid infuser, and Lucas device (cardiac arrests)
• Weekend coverage: Every other weekend required
• Holiday coverage: Required as scheduled
• Floating: Required within specialty as needed
• Scheduled on-call: Not required

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Maryland
• Minimum 3 years of Emergency Department (ED) experience, including experience within the last year
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Travel nursing experience
• Experience with Epic electronic health record (EHR) system
• Certifications:

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) issued by the American Heart Association
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
  • Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC)
  • National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
  • Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) certification
