Description

Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Position

Location: Greensboro, North Carolina
Shift: Nights, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
Schedule: Every 3rd weekend and holidays as needed
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Description

  • Float required; travelers may be floated between multiple campuses as needed
  • Patient ratio approximately 1:6
  • Unit specialty: Inpatient acute care rehabilitation with focus on neurological diagnoses such as CVA, TBI, ABI, spinal cord injury, stroke, aneurysm, post-op surgical care, and generalized debility
  • Responsibilities include interpretation of lab results, medication reconciliation, patient health history and allergies, vital signs monitoring, dressing changes, aseptic/sterile procedures, specimen labeling and collection (capillary, throat, urine clean catch, phlebotomy), telephone triage, and pharmacy refill calls

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina
  • Minimum 1 year of rehabilitation nursing experience, with rehabilitation experience within the last year
  • Completion of at least one travel nursing assignment
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC)
  • NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
  • Experience in Medical-Surgical and Telemetry nursing environments
  • Experience with Epic electronic health record system
